How it works

Four steps, and a written quote before any paid work begins

Nothing is charged until you have seen a plan and a price in writing and agreed to them.

1

Tell us about the book

Send a short description and, if you have one, a sample or an outline. A few lines are enough.

2

We talk

A 30-minute call to understand your aims, your readers and your deadline. Free.

3

Sample, plan and quote

For editing work, a sample edit of about your first 1,000 words, then a written plan: what we will do, how long it takes, what it costs. Free.

4

We do the work

In agreed stages, with your sign-off at each one. Nothing moves on until you are satisfied.

Questions

What authors usually ask first

Will my manuscript be kept confidential?

Yes. Whatever you send us is read only by the people working on it and is never shared without your permission. We are happy to sign a confidentiality agreement before you send anything.

Who owns the text when the work is finished?

You do. That includes ghostwritten work: the copyright is yours and the book appears under your name. We take no share of rights or royalties.

How is the price worked out?

Every job is quoted individually, in writing, before any paid work begins. The quote depends on the length of the manuscript, the service and the state of the text, which is why we like to see a sample first.

Can you get my book published?

No, and we will not pretend otherwise. We are not a publisher or a literary agency and we cannot promise that anyone will publish your book. What we can do is make it as good as it can be and hand you files that are ready to submit or to publish yourself.

Not sure which you need?

That is what the free consultation is for. Thirty minutes, no charge and no obligation.
